Unpacking multiple boxes of new curriculum can be intimidating, but having a special message from a former @RiversideOtters makes it much more enjoyable. ๐ Once an Otter, always an Otter!
Today we learned what works when it comes to group work while searching for numbers. They nailed it! Staying focused, communicating, working together, planning, and thinking ahead. We also learned what doesnโt work, including large groups. This sets expectations for the year!
What does it look like to be a part of the @RiversideOtters family? This right here. When one 5th grader was feeling sad about it being the last day, another stuck by his side through lunch and recess. Iโm going to miss this incredible group of kids!
@JaeHavoc made his yearly visit to our classroom! This year we packed the room with all three sections so they could all hear his message. He connected their learning of figurative language and poetry to his work of writing and rapping. @RiversideOtters
Today was spent making memories before we parted ways for winter break. We played games, collected some data and had a snack with our reading buddies, watched a movie, and enjoyed some warm hot cocoa, all while we were cozy in our pajamas. @RiversideOtters
When you live in MN, taking some time to go sledding as a class is a must! So many giggles today, especially when trying to capture everyone in a photo on a slippery hill. @RiversideOtters
So much division and 100% engagement! I love giving them opportunities to practice how they want at a pace that works for them. So much success and students helping students. @RiversideOtters
