We're an attention-based economy. Trump crosses my feed multiple times of the day, and I'll probably never cross your feed after this thread in the rest of your natural life.
We're compensated in a manner that reflects that. Just seems pretty natural to me. I think pretty highly of myself, but I'm not so delusional to put myself as deserving of NBA Final tickets or whatever benefits "American royalty" comes with.
$8k is a lot, but it's doable for me. I'll still be watching it on TV though.
Blame the secondhand ticket market on this one. Basic supply and demand. So few seats, so many interested.
"Out of touch" would be something more akin to pushing one of the other major sports which are also prohibitively expensive in their championships. "Watch it on TV" is exactly what millions of Americans are going to do instead.
And yes, he can do all those things as president of the United States and with more of his own money than I'll ever earn in my life.
I won't be president and I most likely will not attend any NBA finals either. There are 8 billion or so people in the world and nowhere near that many seats for either. I'm in the majority there.
@larry22717 Canon event for us all.
I did it with a 32oz to-go cup. They say you can't cry over spilled milk, but that doesn't hold true for Dr. Pepper. ๐ข
@sunQ_osrs@Dexerto $10k used car inspected by two different mechanics, is usually his go-to pitch on the show.
Even if you just *have* to go new, settling for like $25k-$35k instead of $65k+ is a good start.
@larry22717 Knew you'd catch that lol, but didn't know that was where the train was. I know West, but that's because I know Waco fairly well. Haven't been there, just would always see it on weather forecasts.
You just won a 2-week, all-expenses-paid vacation to anywhere in West, Tx. But thereโs a catch: you have to stay within one region the whole time. What are you picking?
