Tom Hardy, under the alias Frankie Pulitzer, just dropped a collaborative album called “Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer,” which features him rapping about all things pop culture.

In the song “Raw Forever,” Hardy loads his verse with references to Martin Scorsese’s 1999 film “Bringing Out the Dead,” Willem Dafoe’s portrayal of the Green Goblin, Doctor Doom, the DC Comics hero Sergeant Rock and Sidney Lumet’s classic 1975 film “Dog Day Afternoon”:

I’m Bringing Out the Dead like a paramedic out the Cage, directed by Marty
Frank Pierce the gang’s here welcome to the party
I be somewhat of a scientist like Willem Dafoe

In the song “Mad Technology,” Hardy namechecks two Stephen King books-turned-movies (“Cujo” and “Misery”), and says something wild about the star of the latter, Kathy Bates:

You shit-for-brain no-name lame, that bites like Cujo
I’d rather masturbate to Kathy Bates than hear you flow
And you know that Misery, it loves company

Pas concurrents pour un sou, The Strokes a créé la surprise ce week-end au festival Outside Lands, à San Francisco, en partageant la scène avec Charli XCX.
On les opposait pourtant depuis la sortie simultanée de leurs albums respectifs, "Reality Awaits" et "Music, Fashion, Film", tous deux très attendus par leur public et sortis le même jour, le 24 juillet.

Alors que Charli avait annoncé entrer dans sa "rock era", elle en fait ici une démonstration explosive avec sa reprise de "Take It or Leave It" de l'emblématique "Is This It".
Mais finalement, ce n’est pas la première fois que la popstar britannique et Julian Casablancas, le frontman du groupe new-yorkais, collaborent : il y a quelques années, ils s’étaient déjà retrouvés sur "Mean Girls", extrait de l’album de remixes de "Brat".
