Chris is 💯 right and this is one of the most destructive unintended consequences of @AlboMP & @JEChalmers ’s new insane #CGT changes.
When real losses can no longer properly offset gains inside a portfolio, direct share investing becomes a mug’s game. The system now punishes the very activity that builds genuine wealth for ordinary Australians: picking companies, taking risk, and managing a diversified portfolio of individual stocks.
What does that leave us with?
• More capital funneled into LICs, ETFs and high-dividend “dinosaur” incumbents.
• Less capital for the mining explorers, tech businesses and growth companies that actually create jobs and national prosperity.
• A structural bias against the 7.7 million retail investors.
This isn’t reform. It’s the Japanification of Australian capital markets by stealth.
We must all keep fighting this insane new #CGT that @AlboMP & @JEChalmers are applying to Australian businesses and investors. The fight has just begun

Gold occupies a unique position within the commodities universe. In our new report, explore why it could play a role as a strategic asset in its own right, rather than simply a component of a broad commodities allocation. Read here: https://t.co/L6RikVQRlB

Copper miners now on the brink of a significant breakout as the underlying metal continues to establish itself at historical levels.
This is what happens when rising structural demand meets highly constrained supply.
Very compelling setup.

We have experienced significant disruption in the supply of sulphuric acid across the DRC Copperbelt over the past 6 months.
Spot prices for Sulphuric acid in Kolwezi are now over $1,300 per tonne (delivered net of taxes).
The Kamoa-Kakula copper smelter is currently producing approximately 45,000 tonnes of high strength sulphuric per month.
Tight supply supports the rise in germanium prices, the minor metal sector strengthens, Yunnan Germanium and China Tungsten High-Tech lead the gains https://t.co/WJ67AplSVt

The physical demand for copper used in data center construction is about to take off.
We know very well one of the biggest rack manufacturers that supply data centers. Until February, their order books were quiet… now they have close to a 2.5-year backlog. This happened all in 6 months.
We are about to see an explosion in copper consumption for data centers as we near the late stages of their construction… because it’s the last 9 months where all the copper gets installed.
That’s a wrap on Diggers & Dealers 2026! Thanks to everyone who visited our booth, met with the team and attended Roger Mason’s presentation. Watch the recording: https://t.co/pjB9I42YsQ
