Five years ago, COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. TP vanished, Zoom ruled and we became master bakers.
Uncertainty. Isolation. Anxiety. We felt it all.
Many artists turned these emotions into visual stories. 🔽are a few favorites.

Good Morning Digital Art History Lovers 🖤
1969: "The Greeks were aware of mathematical perfection in nature and believed that great creations could be described by mathematics, even if the formulas were beyond their comprehension ... Mathematics continues to be important to the modern painter, and he is depending more and more on the ultimate mathematical tool."
From Electronic Age Magazine, Summer 1969.
Will be releasing a small number of my large scale paintings over next couple months. The first release is this piece with Sothebys. Link to the Sothebys auction in the comments.
Today is my 4th birthday in this space 🎂🎁.
Cheers 🥂 to this beautiful family that has changed my life forever.
To all my collectors, to all my friends, to each and every one of you:
THANK YOU 🫂🤍.
As the importance of being fully onchain gains visibility, I will share how both my byteGANs and Reflection series go beyond being 100% onchain.
With my eyes on absolutely ZERO dependencies, I challenged myself to make them so that they were immune not only to loss, but also to future changes in browsers and javascript interpreters.
How is this possible?
With both series, it is possible to recreate the artwork exactly as intended by following the human readable SVG code in the artwork. Human readable being the key point. You do not even need computers to render them.
For example, all you need to recreate a Reflection is to read the SVG and connect a bunch of dots. The SVG instructions are human readable, though admittedly it would take a lot of patience to complete. But if you had a printout, as my recent book does, you are not even dependent on electricity. Similar with the byteGANs, which intentionally use an 11x11 GIF format that can be deciphered and plotted out with a pen and paper.
When I went for ZERO dependencies on these projects, my intention was for them to last forever even if browsers and javascript were to change.
Rest assured, the byteGANs will dance forever, and the Reflections will keep on reflecting...
