Happy Global Encryption Day 2025!
Let us continue raising awareness about the importance of using, promoting, and defending encryption. This day reminds us of the vital role strong encryption plays in protecting our loved ones, safety, privacy, and freedoms worldwide. As Tanzania approaches the 2025 elections, let’s prioritize encrypting our data and communications to stay secure. #DigitalRightstz
With end-to-end encryption, we can freely share our thoughts and ideas without fear of surveillance. It's not just a feature; it's a fundamental right we must defend in the digital age. 💪🔐 #GlobalEncryptionDay

#Update MEDIA practitioners have received training on identifying and tackling gendered disinformation, as part of a new initiative by @ZainaFoundation Foundation ahead of the upcoming elections.
Under the project titled “Upholding Integrity: Countering Gender Disinformation in Tanzania’s Electoral Process”, the Foundation in Dar es Salaam today July 12, 2025, held a capacity-building workshop to equip participants with tools to monitor, report, and counter harmful narratives targeting women in media and politics.
Zaina Foundation Executive Director Zaituni Njovu, said the training is designed to empower participants with practical tools and knowledge to effectively address the growing challenge of online attacks targeting women in politics and the media.
“Women in politics and media are often disproportionately targeted by false, harmful narratives online. This workshop empowers them with tools and knowledge to respond effectively,” she said.
