Most democracies require voter registration.
•Most require some form of ID.
•Some (like Germany) use automatic civil registries.
•Some (like Australia) do not require photo ID but have strict roll management.
It’s not like the US is trying to do something extreme. It’s a norm in most of the world to prove you are a legal citizen and have a right to vote.
