There are now three ways to show up in search.
Most ecommerce brands are only focused on one.
𝗦𝗘𝗢 is what you already know. Rank your product pages on Google. Keywords, backlinks, optimized descriptions. Still matters, but it's no longer enough on its own.
𝗔𝗘𝗢 is about AI Overviews. When someone searches "best running shoes for flat feet," Google now answers at the top of the page. If your brand isn't in that answer, you're invisible. Even if you rank #3.
𝗚𝗘𝗢 is the newest one. This is about getting AI to recommend your product by name. When someone asks ChatGPT "what's a good moisturizer for dry skin," it doesn't show 10 links. It gives one or two answers. If you're not being recommended, you don't exist to that shopper.
People don't scroll anymore. They ask AI and trust the first answer.
Old search: Rank higher → Get clicks → Maybe convert
New search: Be the answer → Get recommended → Win the sale
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵:
𝗦𝗘𝗢: Keep doing what you're doing. Optimize product pages, build backlinks, improve site speed. This is your foundation.
𝗔𝗘𝗢: Structure content to answer specific questions. FAQ pages, comparison guides, "best X for Y" articles. Google pulls from content that directly answers the query.
𝗚𝗘𝗢: Get your brand mentioned where AI learns. Reviews, Reddit threads, niche publications, expert roundups. AI recommends what it's seen recommended elsewhere.
This is where search is going. The only question is whether you're ready.
We open sourced ALL of our workflows for building an AI-native marketing agency.
We've been turning the repeated parts of agency work into skills agents can run.
Not prompts. Full Workflows.
The repo has skills for:
- finding ICPs
- mining sales calls
- scoring content ideas
- building outbound lists
- auditing landing pages
- finding SEO gaps
- turning podcasts into content
- modeling finance tradeoffs
The point is to stop treating AI like a chat box and start treating it like an operating system.
Run the skill. Review the output. Improve the workflow. Repeat.
That's how service work starts compounding like software.
Now 2,400+ stars and counting.
Use it, fork it, make it better:

cody dropped a full paid ads tutorial for bootstrapped founders (google/meta ads, perplexity, heygen, elevenlabs) on @startupideaspod:
1/ start transactional → don’t waste year 1 on SEO. get signups tomorrow.
2/ niches > volume → 100 searches/mo can pay your rent for a decade.
3/ google ads setup → phrase match, intent-aligned landing pages, proper tracking.
4/ the ATM analogy → put in $1, get $4 out. that’s ads done right.
5/ conversion funnel secrets → clicks → signups → payments (don’t skip stages).
6/ meta ads strategy → AI avatar videos, valley girl voices in the pro tip, 40+ variations/month, nano banana for images, heygen for videos etc
cody paid his rent for ten years off an app targeting a keyword with only 100 searches a month.

This dead-simple writing "warm-up" routine has helped me write every day for 1,000 days in a row.
Here's how it works
--
The key to writing every day:
Never staring at a blank page.
The blinking cursor staring back at you is your *number one* enemy.
And the easiest way to overcome it?
Put these 6 easy questions at the top of everything you write:
1. What problem am I solving?
2. Whose problem am I solving?
3. What benefits am I unlocking?
4. What promise am I making?
5. What emotion am I generating?
6. What's the next action my reader should take?
Now, why should you do this?
First, remember:
The blank page is your enemy.
And these questions allow you to get the ideas—all of the "raw material"—out of your head and onto the page.
• No judgement
• No backspace
Just fast & furious writing to start building momentum.
But there's another key reason:
Answering these 6 questions will help you write with *elite* clarity.
But most people don't answer them—which leads to wordy, rambling writing.
And that leads to nothing but confusion for the reader.
And a confused reader = back to TikTok.
Instead, try this:
As you answer these questions, get *extremely* specific.
Your goal is to write something that:
• Makes a promise to 1 person
• To solve 1 of their problems
• To unlock 1 specific benefit
• By generating 1 emotion
• And encouraging them to take 1 action
Here's an example:
Most writing tries to be something for everybody—which ends up being nothing for nobody.
When I sat down to write this thread, I clarified *exactly* who I was writing this for and how it would help them.
1. What problem am I solving? Helping writers overcome the blank page by having a specific list of questions they answer every time to create raw material
2. Whose problem am I solving? People who want to write but wake up and stare at the blank page every day, so much so that writing becomes difficult and they quit entirely
3. What benefits am I unlocking? Writing every day is the most powerful personal habit you can develop - clearer thinking, lower stress, new opportunities, and these questions make writing every day easy
4. What promise am I making? If you add these 6 questions to the top of everything you write, you will never stare at a blank page again
5. What emotion am I generating? "Ahhh, damn this is interesting"
6. What's the next action my reader should take? The very next piece they write, they should add these 6 questions to the top
And chances are if you're still reading this, you're that person!
So the next time you sit down to write, take the time to narrow down the:
• Problem you're solving
• Benefit you're unlocking
• Emotion you're generating
• Action you're encouraging
Then, write directly to that person to solve that problem.
Just like this post.
In summary, here are the 6 questions I use to "warm up" my writing.
1. What problem am I solving?
2. Whose problem am I solving?
3. What benefits am I unlocking?
4. What promise am I making?
5. What emotion am I generating?
6. What's the next action my reader should take?
And that's it!
I hope these questions help you up your writing game.
