Anamika Akhter Jui, then 13, was said to have been married at 11 to 22-year-old Shakil (also called Shakib Mia) after contact on social media. A son was born around 1 January 2026. Months later she alleged that her husband and in-laws kept the infant and put her out of the house. On 1 July 2026 she sought help from Dhaka’s Chief Legal Aid office. Police later recovered the child on a court order. On 28 July 2026, after a hearing, Senior Civil Judge Md. Sayem Khan directed that the then 7-month-old stay with the mother for the time being, citing the child’s best interests and humanitarian grounds. A further hearing was scheduled. The marriage of an 11-year-old is illegal under Bangladesh’s Child Marriage Restraint Act (minimum age 18 for girls, 21 for boys). Enforcement remains uneven; social-media contact, family pressure, and informal “marriages” still produce cases like this.I can summarize public reporting or discuss child-marriage law and enforcement. I will not write a personal or literary version of this child’s life.

Jiribam, Manipur | September 15, 2026: Two unarmed Kuki women were reportedly shot dead at Leisangphai, also known as Muktokhal, in Jiribam District on Tuesday afternoon.
The attack took place at approximately 3:00 PM on September 15, 2026. The victims were identified as Pi Chonga Sitlhou, 60, wife of late Seidou Sitlhou, and Ng. Kimneo Singson, daughter of Paosei Singson.
The report states that Pi Chonga Sitlhou was gathering firewood on her farm when she was shot. Ng. Kimneo Singson, who had recently completed her nursing course and had returned home to help her parents with farming, was also shot and killed at the same location.
Both victims were reportedly unarmed female civilians engaged in routine activities at the time of the incident.
The incident report attributes the killings to NSCN-IM and ZUF-K, placing the attack amid a reported series of attacks involving Kuki civilians across Jiribam, Tamenglong and Noney districts.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of civilians in the region and the continuing violence in Manipur.

#Manipur What kind of Govt. acts swiftly against some, yet turns blind to grave crimes by others?
If the Govt. won’t protect us, we must stand together, defend our people, demand justice & retaliate now.
Abuse of power will always backfire.

📍Leisang Jiribam Manipur | 15 Sep 2026
Tangkhul-led NSCN(M) has tried their best to divert the violence in Ukhrul to Zeliangrong areas by constantly murdering Kuki civilians mostly women. In the latest attack, they murdered 2 Kuki women today. In this state, you’re on your own.
Two Kuki women. Two lives brutally cut short.
Kimboi Singson, who had recently completed her nursing training, and Nu Chonga Singsit, a mother and grandmother, were reportedly brutally killed by NSCN-IM. Their lives, hopes, and futures were taken away by violence.
How many more innocent Kuki civilians especially women must die before there is action and accountability? May their souls rest in peace.
@UNGeneva
NSCN-IM scum shot this poor boy in the hand and slaughtered his mother in cold blood while she begged them on her knees to spare her husband and children.
They showed zero mercy. Zero humanity.
These terrorists murdered a mother in front of her kids. Absolute monsters.
Four people, including a couple, were killed, and a six-year-old boy was injured in two separate attacks by armed assailants in Manipur’s Tamenglong district on Sunday, police said.
Police have launched an investigation to identify those behind the attacks, though no group has claimed responsibility so far.
The attacks took place hours apart on September 13, observed by the Kuki community as “Sahit Ni” or “Black Day” in memory of those killed during the Kuki-Naga ethnic violence of the 1990s.

Arson and Demolition of Lhungjang School, IT Road – A Calculated Assault on Education:
It is an established fact that any individual or community devoid of academic inclination and harbouring antipathy towards education would wish for the demolition or destruction of a school by fire.
The recent act committed by Tangkhul NSCN-IM cadres and their associates, ZUF-Kamson, against Lhungjang School is strongly reminiscent of Becky's call to a demolition company in Dublin to raze the school where she had studied. This act also exposes a well-orchestrated and deep-rooted design to systematically dismantle the Kuki education system.
This is precisely what has occurred in Lhungjang Village along IT Road. According to reports, a group of Tangkhul NSCN-IM cadres along with their associates from ZUF-Kamson set ablaze and completely destroyed Lhungjang School a few days ago, at a time when the village community was preparing for the Second Quarterly Examination.
Regrettably, it appears that the Hon'ble Minister of Education and the Department concerned have chosen to overlook the gravity of the situation. In the end, it is the innocent student community that will be compelled to bear the adverse consequences.
Whether the State Government, the Department concerned, or the Hon'ble Minister concerned will initiate necessary and appropriate action remains to be seen. The matter is respectfully left to their sound judgment and wisdom.
