📷UPDATE ON RESISTANCE TO THE DALEKS:📷
As I continue reworking P1, I've been torn on whether to keep Whitmore as Sarah Jane or to introduce a new companion.
Should Whitmore portray Sarah Jane or a new companion?

@Grossgiirl I'm a graphic artist. I was "drawing" before there was Photoshop. I still draw by hand to storyboard AI video productions. AI is just another "tool" I've added to my workflow - just like Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, WordPad, IntelliJ, etc.
@aworthystory Food for thought: In 1982, "Tron" could not be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Special FX because at the time, using CGI was considering "cheating." Same old song, different tech...
@ollmecagent@aworthystory No one using it ever describes it as an "AI workflow," because that's not what it is. Just like Photoshop, Blender, Premiere, etc, we just integrated a new tool into existing workflows. That is - and always has been - how this works.
@Tieguaili3D@aworthystory "Asking for revisions over and over again" is not what anyone's workflow is.
If it's that easy, why isn't everyone churning out full-length productions daily? Why did my project take 2 months?
@rhyder@TheExplodingBoi Yes, I'm aware that this tech can make "production quality" content. However, I stand by my original point -- if an audience prefers AI-generated fan fic to such an extent that they don't watch the official content, that's not really my problem.
@rhyder@TheExplodingBoi If your ability to profit from your IP is threatened by a small-time, non-profit, low-budget internet fan film, perhaps the issue isn't with copyright...
@rhyder@TheExplodingBoi If there were no fair use laws, even the vaguest child's drawing of a Dalek would violate copyright. Copyright laws are meant to protect your IP from being used by someone else to profit. (You couldn't sell tickets for your film, for example).
@rhyder@TheExplodingBoi You should be able to make your own IJ or SW feature film (there are already AI versions of both on YT). With respect to copyright, if your production is non-profit/non-commercial, your work falls under "parody, pantomime, or pastiche."
@rhyder@TheExplodingBoi Out of curiosity -- if every frame in the production had been hand-painted using promo images as a reference, would you still feel this way?
@TheExplodingBoi Acknowledging that it's AI would seem to negate any reflections on the real "actor's talent," since we agree it's not really them. That's a bit like complaining a caricature painting "doesn't look like me."
@TheExplodingBoi Does this apply to all fan productions, or just those made with AI? Again -- I don't mean to argue, but a lot of the points being made against AI work can be applied to all forms of fan art, and people seem to just be making an exception in cases of AI...
@12AngryUsers@bbcdoctorwho@DW_MidJourney@DWASonline You make comments like this and then have the nerve to call OTHERS assholes? 😂OK. The only "assholes" I've seen since the start of this has been the same ilk crying about AI.
@TheExplodingBoi If that's the case, then fan art for the last 50 years is equally in violation. As a colleague recently put it, "You can't stop people from painting other people."
@12AngryUsers@bbcdoctorwho@DW_MidJourney@DWASonline Well lucky for the rest of the world, Sadie doesn't own the rights to Sarah Jane. Fans aren't going to stop using AI just because a small minority can't stop crying about it.
