Say the government sets out to buy a mercedes, a dealer selling alto also will take part in the tender because of cvc guidelines, the alto guy will go on to systematically dilute the tender clauses, the government will get board approval to buy a skoda (despite needing the budget to buy a merc), the alto guy will win the tender quoting the cost of a swift dzire and the tender will get scrapped. 2. Capital cost. India is 14 to 20%. China is Zero.

@amazonIN my credit card (HDFC) is giving error "Please enter a valid CVV code.". The CVV entered was correct. This same card and CVV was working till a month or so ago.
I deleted the saved info from payment methods and also from the list under Amazon pay. Still same error.

An update on this: The name is shown in call history for a brand new launched phone of my wife. My 4 year old phone is showing the name during the call, but the call history shows only the number. My phone is out of update support, so no hope of getting this function.

Some of the Telecom providers are now sending the person's name via caller ID. But that is visible only during the ringing. Once the call is connected/cut, that information is not available. Only the number is shown in the call log. (on my Samsung phone).
What is the solution?

@EurekaForbes, I bought an Aquaguard frm yr web site with xchge offer. The unit is sent by courier as "replacement". The courier is asking for the old unit, without which they will not deliver the new one.
This is not acceptable. You install the new one and take away the old.

@ijnani You missed the real cause by a mile. The material got eroded away by the mating part (another ring?) as it swung back and forth, and finally, after almost it cut through the entire diameter, it cracked. I am assuming the counterpart is steel, and its own surface is not eroded.

In India as well, it is the politicians and babus who decide the procurement rules. And ultimately, what gets bought, and when. The Services can only make recommendations. Even that recommendation has to be endorsed by DRDO stating that the system cannot be developed in-house or within the required timeframe before its import is approved.

The screw-up in Indian defense procurement lies with Ministry of Defense, and not the Services.
