Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes has setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery with a lat strain and will be shut down. Diamondbacks are hoping he can return in September
@ThirstRoundPick The stuff was always legit. Was just a matter of whether he could command it on any given night. And that goes for his time in Detroit and Philly too.
@ThirstRoundPick Think whoever hottest hand is at the time you just give that guy the most likely highest leverage spot. If it’s a one-run game in the 8th and the best hitters are due up, give me my best arm. Would rather take chances with a one-step lesser arm vs a weaker part of lineup in 9th
I always forget that the batter gets awarded a single when it hits a runner.
I kinda wanna see a spot where a batter needs a single for the cycle and gets it by drilling his teammate with a batted ball. Or better yet, runner purposely gets hit on a grounder to help his teammate.
He’s most definitely safe. You could tell Gunnar knew he was safe by his delayed reaction to tell the dugout to challenge. He had no idea he was called out, he just assumed he was safe and didn’t look for the call
@PaulValleIII@JayBird_531@editti22 Yup. He did one thing well, and that was hit tanks. If he wasn’t hitting tanks, he wasn’t hitting (or even walking, for that matter. Typically even if you’re struggling as a HR or nothing hitter, you’re still walking quite a bit).
@JayBird_531@editti22 Vibes are immaculate. Defense has been great as well. But also, there’s actually been a well-thought out analysis article about how Trumbo’s 2016 was the least valuable season ever by the season’s HR champ.
