@NYCMayor Agreed! My child has been getting Close Contact Alerts regularly from school. The State’s COVID hotline & dr recommended that we cancel her booster; wait x days from an alert. The only way we can do that is to take her out of school. Booster is super important! your advice?
@NYCMayor@GovKathyHochul Begging! Please reconsider a remote option! So few kids & teachers in school today. Kids not learning - my daughter called from a quiet empty hallway! Keeping schools open sounds good but is really serving no one. We r thinking about removing her - it’s risk for nothing!
@NYCMayor@GovKathyHochul The classes at many schools are only 50% to 75% filled. Whether directly or indirectly due to COVID, many kids are being left behind without a remote option. Please provide a hybrid/remote option - forcing agenda for agenda’s sake is damaging to those you are trying to help!
@NYCMayor people are doing it on their own…1/2 the restaurants are closed (some bc of COVID outbreaks) & the ones that are open are empty! Platitudes don’t support workers. We need a short term CARE package so that people can stay home, safe & be paid. That’s serving the under-served.
@ChicagoMayor@NYCMayor not providing a remote option doesn’t serve the under-served, it makes a larger divide btwn priv. & public ed. Leaving schools open, hurts the kids (freezing w/windows open bc of poor ventilation). NYC infrastructure can’t handle a surge w/open schools
@ChicagoMayor@NYCMayor the effort to serve the under-served is admirable but not providing a remote option is creating a larger divide. Chicago has closed w/no remote learning saying that it taxes the parents. NO! In-person is better but remote learning is still learning!
@NYCMayor It’s embarrassing and insulting to throw slogans around at times like these. If you want to GSD give us a remote option so the kids don’t have to freeze in the classroom. Standing up is not forcing an agenda - you want swagger, open your eyes…give us a remote option!
@NotSpradlin@NYCMayor On top of that - the schools have the windows open. The kids inside are freezing. Yesterday The mayor said that the school ventilation systems were good - this is a lie. If he wants to GSD (it’s embarrassing and insulting to throw slogans around) - give us a remote option!
