Running for DC Council At-Large. Native Washingtonian. Wife / Mother / Grandmother. Small Biz Owner. A Councilmember and a DC that #WorksforAll. Vote Nov. 6.
Growing up on Kenyon Street, I was told that if you work hard and play by the rules, you’d have every opportunity to succeed in DC. I learned a long time ago that wasn’t true for far too many of our residents.
I’ve spent my career fighting to make DC a city that #WorksForAll.
@Phil_Lewis_ Please stop by Sycamore and Oak and visit the east of the river outdoor Black retail village, 1110 Oak Drive, SE, WDC 20032. Myself and Andre own, Dionne’s Good and Bar, there are 4 other food establishments at this location all of us are small black family owned businesses.
Shockingly testy conversation with this candidate for the D.C. Council just now. She would not be "cornered" on how she would vote on anti-@Airbnb legislation as written, now in council. Answering voters' questions is not being "cornered"!
In the @washingtonpost latest article, Elissa Silverman admits that her work has been subpar in the wards of this city where the population is predominantly people of color.
