Tomorrow’s programme in Balotra will be historic, marking the inauguration and laying of foundation stones of works worth over Rs. 1.06 lakh crore. This includes the dedication of the integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra. This project will boost India’s energy and petrochemicals sector. It will also provide employment opportunities to several people.

HPCL Mourns the Loss of Lives at Budaun CBG Plant
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is deeply saddened and mourns the tragic loss of two of its officers, Shri Sudhir Gupta, Deputy General Manager (Plant), and Shri Harshit Mishra, Assistant Manager (CBG), under unfortunate circumstances at the Compressed Biogas Plant in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2026.

Both officers were valued members of the HPCL family who served the organisation with dedication, professionalism, and integrity. Their sudden and untimely passing is an immense loss to the entire HPCL community.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with their families, loved ones, and colleagues during this extremely difficult time. HPCL is extending all possible support to the bereaved families.

Yet another significant milestone in meeting India’s SAF blending mandate of achieving 1% blending by 2027, 2% by 2028 and 5% by 2030. This is a positive step towards our cleaner, greener and self-reliant energy future under the dynamic and decisive leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.

Visakh Refinery of @HPCL has inaugurated the demonstration plant of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production through co-processing of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) in its Full Conversion Hydrocracker Unit leveraging the existing refinery assets.

As per HPCL’s roadmap, post CORSIA certification, Visakh Refinery will produce ~10 TMT per annum of SAF from January 2027, supporting our nation's commitment to decarbonising aviation and promoting a circular, waste-to-wealth economy.

This pioneering initiative strengthens our countries energy #Aatmanirbharta, aligns with global CORSIA standards, and reinforces the nation’s Net-Zero targets.
