Question for German readers of philosophy but what is your preferred translation of Gattung? Genus is the direct translation, but I have encountered cases where species or kind is more intuitive
@proledelendaest Do you mean the Absolute or the Absolute Idea?
The Absolute is simply the concept of self-creation, but the Absolute Idea is the Concept of Concepts, i.e. the entirety of thought as all being
@3mericanj0hnson@proledelendaest Welcome to the Epiphanie Part 3, where Teleophanes (Michelet) defends Pyroryax (Feuerbach) against Loipoteles (Rosenkranz) by repeating after Jacobi
I agree, the only prior knowledge you need is let go of all presuppositions and think the pure Concept of capitalism as it constructs itself
This also means that Capital provides the pure Concept of socialism as well since it is the negation of capitalism
@die_rizzen The public / private dualism is superseded by associated / socialized property.
If the state can fund itself merely by being a shareholder of associated properties, all the more reason that the arbitrariness of taxation should be abandoned as a relic of the past.
@3mericanj0hnson@kato_hirohisa I havenโt looked too deeply into Japanese Marxist studies on Weitling, Rachi is the only one I know of who has an entire book just about Weitling and Hess, maybe something is in there
@3mericanj0hnson@kato_hirohisa The first translations of Hess appeared to have initiated promoted the study of the Young Hegelians in Japan after the 1970s, with a notable focus on Bauer, Stirner, Ruge and even Carl Schรผz
@3mericanj0hnson@kato_hirohisa Rachi also believes that Hess was an influence on Marx, but he thinks Hiromatsu vastly overestimates Hess, siding instead with Lukacs' viewpoint that Hess is an unsuccessful forerunner to Marx who had failed to make his abstract vision of communism actually concrete
