Moving would do something because Homelander would be far away and has never moved them that fast also obstacles. There are no instances of him getting damaged outside of a point blank lasers to the face so no gashes on body.

If he’s dazed and drained after using his blast then he has less stamina, slower reaction time, fatigue, all which makes someone overall weaker.
