A little stadium news
Architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has unveiled a concept stadium proposal for the Chicago Bears at 35th & Shields, should the White Sox relocate.
The vision includes a new stadium, entertainment district, housing, parks, and more.
@SOM_Design
It might be a little harsh and hyperbolic because it’s coming from SAS lol. However, he’s not totally wrong tho. If you didn’t have Brian Flores, he would absolutely be on the hot seat this season. I absolutely love KOC, his inability to have stability at quarterback is largely his responsibility and it’s holding him back.
@JAYChi_Bears Right! Also SOM is an elite heavy hitting architecture firm. I would trust them over Manica. My first choice is the lakefront, but ultimately want them to stay in the city.
So it’s important to remember, a lot of people have come out and said the Bears absolutely want to own and create a business district. They haven’t come out and said that verbatim. I think it’s important to them, but I think that they would be willing to compromise on certain things to get a deal done and to get where they want it. I don’t think that entire presentation two years ago for downtown stadium was a bluff. I do think a lot of people want them to stay in the city.
