I had the privilege of speaking at this year’s edition of The Telegraph Education Symposium, where the focus was on exploring new prospects and opportunities for our students. The theme, "Building Doors, Changing Perspectives," resonated deeply as we discussed how to open new pathways and reshape the future of education.

In my address, I highlighted the evolving landscape of education and the critical role we play in preparing our students for a dynamic world. It was an honor to share the stage with other esteemed leaders in the field and to contribute to such a meaningful dialogue.

With great power comes great responsibility. The ethical dimension of AI in hospitality education cannot be overlooked. IIHM has braced itself to educate its students on both the use and misuse of AI in hospitality. The AI module at IIHM will also create awareness of the importance of data privacy, the potential biases in algorithms, and the ethical use of AI technology. While AI is the way ahead for leveraging guest experience, there are also concerns about the loss of personal touch, data privacy, high implementation costs, and job displacement fears that are also a challenge in AI world.
IIHM’s AI curriculum has also taken this factor into consideration and will strike a balance between leveraging AI’s benefits and maintaining the human essence of hospitality.
