Too many people think that good conversations only happen when participants share an equal amount of input.
I disagree.
A good conversation simply requires an equal amount of interest from all participants.
A good conversationalist keeps people interested!
PASTOR LORAN LIVINGSTON (@CentralChurchNC): βThere has never been a Christian nation, and never will be. You donβt live in one now. A Christian nation wouldnβt have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans, or thought owning slaves was pleasing to God.β
Three clear language markers of identity in the new subculture of βreformedβ faith.
1. Addressing your congregation as βbeloved.β
2. Referring to God as βour triune God.β
3. Referring to government leaders as βcivil magistrates.β
I havenβt heard any other group use these terms.
Can @AGPamBondi explain why Don Lemon was arrested for entering a church to film a protest and ask non-discriminatory questions, yet nothing happened to Republican congressional candidate @ValentinaForUSA after she entered a liberal church during services to protest and hurl homophobic slurs at the congregation?
Excellent! And here I thought you were simply an X rabble rouser.

The problem is not the friend/enemy distinction in and of itself. The problem is the use of a bright line of distinction between the two and where that line is laid.
Unfortunately, most conservatives have placed the line farther right on the imaginary continuum between βleftβ and βright.β And then assume that anyone to the right is βfriendβ and anyone to the left is βfoe.β
Your current conundrum is that you are rejecting the bright line modern conservatives are demanding you comply with.
Becoming a political influencer in these tumultuous waters requires devotion to one extreme or the other. People who think for themselves inevitably become moderates and you donβt know any because the algorithms donβt push them.
The only independent thinker Iβve seen survive is Chris Cuomo. I suggest giving him a listen and freshen up your feed a bit if youβre not going to toe the party line.
Good luck on your journey. I pray the hordes donβt devour you.
Iβm curious to hear Joshβs pastor, @BrooksPotteiger take on this public controversy. Iβm also curious why Joshβs internship was ended. Is he a member in good standing? As a working PR professional, I can say, you best get ahead of this.
Christian nationalist podcaster Joshua Haymes says Christians must be willing to defend the institution of slavery because the Bible makes it clear that "it is not inherently evil to own another human being." https://t.co/XBMQW7HSen
