A Gulf War veteran who was honorably discharged in 1992, he answered the call again after 9/11. He served three additional deployments. On his fourth tour, his convoy was hit by explosives. Robert was the only survivor — three fellow soldiers were killed that day.

Conservative actor Dennis Quaid was so adamant about not presenting Robert De Niro with the Lifetime Achievement Golden Globe last year that he walked out instead.

“They didn’t tell me what I’d be presenting or to whom until I got there,” Quaid told Greg Gutfeld. “When I found out, I was nice. I asked them to switch me with someone. They said nobody else was available, so I left.”

The show ended up scrapping that portion altogether.
