With our partners at @pukuu_ccs, we passed our motion declaring this week to be Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP) Awareness Week.
MMIP is an epidemic, especially for young people in this community -- let's all do our part to raise awareness.🔴
The shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti in Minneapolis - now the third tied to federal enforcement - shows how far the federal government has crossed the line. Last year was the deadliest in ICE custody; we cannot allow them to act with impunity. I stand with Minnesotans: Trump must remove reckless agents and end enforcement tactics that treat lives as expendable.
America’s unions mourn the senseless killing by federal agents of our @AFGEnational Local 3669 union brother and VA nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti.
We reiterate our call for ICE to immediately leave Minnesota before anyone else is hurt or killed.

The AFL-CIO mourns our @AFGEnational union brother, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, who was killed today by federal agents.
Our thoughts are with Alex’s loved ones. The Trump administration’s operation—and their actions aimed at stoking violence and chaos—must end.

The American Indian Movement started in Minneapolis in 1968 in response to police violence against Native Americans. Today, AIM is patrolling Minneapolis streets again–to try and keep the Native community safe from ICE. https://t.co/vsWT7xX14a

Hot potato leek soup is a tasty treat on a cold day. It comes to us due to the hard work of farm workers like these Central Coast farm workers who have spent their 8-hour day on their knees harvesting this tasty vegetable. #WeFeedYou

❤️ Let’s talk about hunger.
Nearly 1 in 7 U.S. households don’t have enough money for food.
That means family members skip meals, cut portion sizes and do their best to make groceries last until payday.
Grownups and older kids also eat less so younger children can eat more.
💫 At United Way, we fund food banks and meal programs to feed families now. We're also working with community partners to find long-term solutions to hunger.
