I will dip my hat slightly into the ring here, as I am one of the trans creators mentioned who has talked about this quietly.

I do respect Nyara because I've had pleasant conversations with her personally and genuinely believe that she means well. She is definitely good of heart as a person.

But I think when the leverage you have with your platform is used for beefing with creators and spiraling about how bad it is being trans in the current situation without covering any of the good (and believe it or not, there is!) I feel that the plot of the cause becomes lost, and it becomes a concoction of misery for both the creative, and even worse, for their audience who could instead be inspired or motivated to real actions that affect change.

It creates an audience that is demoralized, depressed, unmotivated, and addicted to negativity. You effectively become a merchant for demoralization. It's not to say there can't ever be hard conversations or time to feel bad about things, I've had those moments on my own streams on occasion, sometimes it's necessary to just feel bad with your community sometimes. Toxic positivity can be easily just as bad. But I feel we're bartering extremes for things that are only needed in moderation, which is what I hate the most about conversations like these.

I barely talk politics on my streams, however I have many trans & queer folk who have come to me personally telling me that I have inspired, moved, or motivated them in some way by simply being an example that success is possible as an openly trans talent. Sometimes you don't even have to say much more than simply leading by example and actions to be an advocate.

The trans community needs to be moved and motivated more than anything right now, and I'm proud that Ana sees this as I felt she was in that funk for a while and it was tough to see.

Some analyses suggest the House is leaning toward passing the bill, making the outcome highly uncertain.

We urge everyone to pay close attention to this matter and call upon U.S. citizens to take action to halt it; we are hoping for a positive outcome from here in Japan as well.
