@SportsSturm Razor said we were #1 in PDO all year. Should’ve seen this coming tbh. Who would’ve thought Nils would be our most valuable 5v5 asset at this point
I’d rather have stankoven -7 more yrs 🙂
PAY ROBO & MAV
Jamie Benn?!?!
Nill got outclassed by Guerin & MacFarland
Stuck with Myers another year
Miro way overworked
Harley meh
Not Otter’s fault, but needs to be better
Hintz health not reliable
Deboer vindicated?
#TexasHockey
Death, taxes, and Jamie Benn taking a selfish dumbass penalty at a critical time in a playoff game. He’s been a great captain for the majority of his time here, but the writing’s on the wall. It’s time for a change.
@SportsSturm And my point is those other cup winners played no less games than we did and still showed up when it counts. Florida had EIGHT players in 4 nations last year. And REPEATED as cup champs. You couldn’t sort that out? Stop making excuses. That’s the real weak stuff
@SportsSturm Yeah the last time they won the cup, which was preceded by 2 straight cup appearances, an outlier 1 and done, and another conference final the year before that. That’s MORE games than we’ve played the last 3 years. What’s your point?
@SportsSturm Brother, Mikko is only 29. Miro is 26. They should be able to handle the workload. There are plenty of superstars with more tread not using the same pathetic excuses. How does Tampa, Florida, Vegas, Edmonton find so much success while playing even MORE games? You gotta embrace it
@SportsSturm@oconnor9sean Yes I have, and the cap is only going up from here. $13m will be a bargain in 4 years. I’m of the opinion that you lock in your dawgs and work around it. You don’t pinch pennies on players who are vital to your team. Besides McDavid is underpaid and we all know it
Hey @SportsSturm is goals in 8 straight playoff games good? Have your thoughts about paying Robo his money changed after this series? Still want to trade him for Brady Tkachuk? Playoff “beast” Rantanen is looking like a shell of himself so far…
@SportsSturm Let’s hope it’s enough to extend the season a bit longer… but just so we’re clear, you’re on board with a 8x$13m contract? I think he’s worth more than Rantanen. Not sure if Rants is hurt but he looks flat out lackadaisical so far in this series.
@NoLimitGains NGL man, one of the reasons I followed you was because you made a huge deal about how you’re not looking to profit off your fame, which makes you trustworthy.. then you create a private organization that charges $200/month? Wild flip flopping.
@SportsSturm Not debating this.. my point is the Stars don’t have many of these type of players on roster. That’s the most relevant point in his contract negotiations. Without Robo, outside of Wyatt & Mikko, who else can you count on to single handedly take over a shift?
@SportsSturm 100% playoffs are a way different animal. Which is what makes the NHL playoffs unlike any other sport and the best experience in sports. But I’d wager if you do this exercise for any other star not named Mikko, the results would be similar.
@SportsSturm Not off the top of my head, but I’m sure I can find one if I took the time to look. But either way, let’s revisit this conversation after this years playoffs. Here’s hoping he proves you wrong
@SportsSturm I do know puck, and the reason I’m on X debating with you is because I agree with your puck takes 99% of the time. Which is why I’m astounded as to why you don’t think Robo is worth at LEAST $12m AAV with the cap going way up in the coming years
@SportsSturm I can’t name them off the top of my head, but that’s irrelevant. What is relevant is his playoff performance relative to his team. And he’s never finished below 2nd in playoff scoring in any year. He is one of 2 MAYBE 3 pure offense drivers on this roster.
@SportsSturm All because he hasnt had one yet doesnt mean he wont. He’s only 26 and on the verge of his 3rd 40 goal campaign. In a perfect world, you want him at PPG in the playoffs, but its not a perfect world, and players DO get paid based on regular season performance all across the league
@SportsSturm Not to mention he was 2nd on the stars in postseason scoring in both ‘22 and ‘23… if he gets to the playoffs fully healthy this year, I expect him to shut all his haters up. Just don’t blame him when people cry he’s “overpaid” cuz the stars waited too long to extend him.
@SportsSturm I remember this article. But context is important. Robo rushed back from injury last year, and was pretty much the only one scoring against the Oilers. And he led the Stars in playoff scoring in ‘24 (along with Wyatt). Way too early to say he’s not a prime time player.
