I have been thinking of leaving Twitter/X since Musk's love affair with Trump. I now discover that my account has recently been hacked (This is the 3rd time) so I am giving up on X . If you see any future message from me, it isn't.
Had to turn #r4today off when the sports reporter would not stop the most boring interview with the winner of an olympic silver medal. Well done, mate ! We don't need to know how it felt, how much you had to drink afterwards etc etc. There must be other news even about sport.
Thank goodness for the election ! Imagine if Suella Braverman or Robert Jenrick were still in power dealing with the racist thugs whose violence they stirred up.
Doesn't matter what Reeves knew about public finances. The whole political class has told 2 big lies. 1. Good public services don't need more taxes (dates back to Thatcher). 2. Brexit brings opportunities and has not damaged our economy (since before the referendum) .
@bbclaurak Farage condemns Liberal discourse re Trump, but he and his friend Trump have spread more hate in the UK and USA than anyone else. Pots calling kettles black.
Don't pay much attention to the sport. On Wimbledon #r4today just said "The fans are blowing the courts dry". I thought they must have turned up early to get good seats.
#LabourGovernment2024 Great interview on #r4today in which Darren Jones fails to explain why Labour won't let UK join Single Market or Customs Union, just accepting the Tory view of #Brexit .
#GeneralElections2024 Fantastic result but FirstPast the Post is still a rubbish system. Labour vote share 34%, seat share 64%, Tories 24% & 19%, LibDem 12% &11%, Reform 14% & 1%, Green 7% & 1%. Don't hold your breath waiting for electoral reform from Labour.
#r4today Tice talks of faith, community, country. Reminds me of Blue Labour, the group which talks of faith, family and flag. Both with natural fascist tendencies and dog whistles designed to other and exclude anyone different.
@bbclaurak Here's some facts for Sunak, not that he cares for facts. By the end of 2023, goods trade had shrunk to levels not seen since 2015. UK's goods exports and imports have contracted by 13.2 per cent and 7.4 per cent since 2019, by far more than any other G7 country.
@bbclaurak As ever, brexit is the elephant in the room. Sunak blames everything on Covid and Ukraine. As ever no-one asks Sunak which services he will cut when he cuts taxes.
