What If One Motor Could Move an Entire Robot Leg?
Quaddle takes a very different approach to quadruped mechanics.
Instead of using separate motors for the hip and knee, each leg uses a single servo with a mechanical linkage that drives both joints. That cuts the actuator count to just four servos for the whole robot.
The interesting part is that the mechanical design does more of the work normally handled by extra actuators. With the right linkage and gait timing, Quaddle can walk, move sideways and spin in place.
Less motors. Less wiring. Less weight.
More mechanical engineering.
Also, the hardware and motion system can be hacked and experimented with.
Would you try designing your own leg mechanism around this idea?
Breaking: Michael Burry says OpenAI and Anthropic are faking the AI warnings due to slow growth ahead of IPOs
Below are his reasonings:
1. LLMs are not AI and won't be AGI. There is nothing AI to slow down.
2. Competition is coming up fast, slowing benefits incumbents.
3. IPOs need hype & puffery; "we are so awesome it could become dangerous" is hype & puffery
4. Cover for real uncontrollable slowing growth as IPOs look to be pushed out
BIG MILESTONE for the Macroduck. It can stay standing up. 😆
It is using a temporary power supply B6ACneo for now, and a Raspberry Pico as servo controller bridge. The policy is actually running on my laptop and bring proxied both ways through the Pico.
What if you could build your own $50 robot dog?
Sesame Robot, created by Dorian Todd, is an open-source mini quadruped built around an ESP32.
It uses 8 MG90 servos, a 128×64 OLED for its face, and 3D-printed PLA parts.
Sesame Studio lets you pose the robot, create movement sequences and generate the servo code. There is also a browser-based Rust simulator for testing movements before using the real hardware.
Using GPT-6 Astra and upcoming SSBM Nucleus features I have built an automated system for porting characters into Melee! Here's Incineroar and Shulk from Ultimate, but I think this workflow should work for porting from almost any game!
Also these work on Slippi, it's not decomp
No dejéis que los pequeños pasen horas con pantallas, hay que estimular la parte psicomotora, usar más las manos, dale una crimpadora, unos cuantos RJ45 y su primer #Switch
SO-ARM 102 goes open source in September.
- A parallel gripper, so the jaws stay parallel through the whole stroke instead of rolling the object as they close.
- PET-CF instead of PLA+, for a much stiffer frame.
- A topology-optimized structure, which is where the lattice in the video comes from.
- Wider rotation and folding angles.
- STS 3250 servos.
Against SO-101 that adds up to 2.5x payload, roughly 2x positioning accuracy, roughly 1.6x movement speed, and about 36 mm more reach.
It runs on Hugging Face LeRobot, so datasets, policies and tutorials written for the platform work on it from day one. The pair in the video shows why that matters. You move the leader by hand, the follower copies, and what comes out is a recorded demonstration a policy can learn from.
Everything goes public in September.

NEW ROBOT: First transformer humanoid !
HFUN-TECH released a robot that can autonomously reconfigure between a wheel-foot humanoid and a four-legged quadruped, switching modes on its own based on terrain via a unified control framework.
You can even carry it as a suitcase, and ride it to move around!
It carries a flip camera, a 45-degree tilted interaction screen and a multi-microphone array, and is pitched for home companionship, content creation and outdoor use.
It debuted at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC, July 17-20, Shanghai).
I also found an alomst identical robot marketed as the "PrimeBOT Qiyuan T1" from a Shanghai startup PrimeBOT, so I cannot really make sense of it 🤔
Zelda: The Minish Cap is getting a striking Unreal Engine 5 fan remake in full 3D. New footage shows modern lighting, combat, puzzles and a fresh look at the GBA classic. A fascinating UE5 experiment for Zelda fans. #Zelda#UnrealEngine5#RetroGaming https://t.co/fjkAuGF621
