If Owl House previews were treated like Hexed is now "Uh, another quirky teenage magical girl show right after Star ended. Disney is running out of ideas, they are obviously just trying to distract us from how badly Star's ending was received."
First clip from Disney's new animated film โHEXEDโ.
The film follows a girl who discovers she has magic abilities & sets out on an adventure into a magical realm.
In theaters on November 25.
I'm just trying to imagine them pitching that to Netflix. "Ok, so for our final episode, we're going to end our decade long show by trolling our audience for a week and purposely make a portion of our fanbase hate us to suprise them with an extra episode"
A growing conspiracy among some Stranger Things fans is that the finale is actually an illusion created by Vecna, and that the true ending will be released in a secret Episode 9.
@ShalkaFanNo1 I have a feeling he incorrectly assumed that Disney would see the potential immediately and start treating it like Marvel/Star Wars right away. There was an interview pre-return announcement about how he thought Doctor Who should be like those franchises.
@pualnewwin It's a likely consequence of wanting the seasons back to back. Russell realized he had to rush this dynamic because he had guest written episodes he had to plop her into. When multiple guest writers come out and admit, "Yeah, we had no idea who our second main character is.."...
What's interesting to me is that this might not even be the first draft because the first page says "Rewrite by Chris Columbus". It makes me curious what Craig Titleys original script/story was before this.
@AcunaAndrew I think It's a half and half thing: Bingewatchers get the first half first and have to either join the weekly viewers or wait and avoid spoilers, and weekly viewers avoid spoilers for the first half but get the second half weekly first before people can binge watch it
@lola1982870@DiscipleOfBrad I personally think that would be worse for Ncuti's doctor. Being the only NewWho doctor that doesn't get an emotional regeneration ending, just "he's gone now." That wouldn't be fair for him.
People have misinterpreted Belinda's ending. I think the implication (while not executed well) is that this whole season we've watched has taken place in the time shifted reality without Poppy and the shattering effect was the Doctor being put back in the real reality#DoctorWho
@minimoefoe I think it may look that way to some people because when the season was airing people were lenient to the issues having a "trust the process" mindset hoping the finale makes it make sense, then a disappointing finale makes them rethink the season.
@14YoureOver I wonder if he was more focused on the producing side last season. To me, S14 stories sometimes felt like he had unused sci-fi scripts around and adapted them into DW episodes. Now with a year under his belt and more writers, he was actually able to focus on the writing side.
@eatthelettuce17 It's the frequency of it that's an issue. We had Pyramids of Mars in EOD, the Pantheon gods in Lux and Midnight flashback here. That's 3 out of a 5 episode span that have had a flashback, with 2 being literally back to back. When used often, flashbacks seem like a shortcut.
@Ethan_LMP S1 following a mystery arc they pushed end with "Welp, shouldn't have expected one" with a "Look at this mystery!" tease, then Russell saying her 4th wall breaking might never be explained. But I have been interested in her teases this year, but just hesitant to get too invested
For the fans complaining about The Well being a sequel episode, I understand Russell's reasoning. A horror episode featuring an unseen entity that takes hold of someone and characters paranoid, if it had come out unconnected, fans would have complained it's a ripoff #DoctorWho
