Posting pieces of Disney Park history from ideas, plans, and attractions! Remnants are posted all week. My DMs are always open for remnant suggestions.
At GotG: Cosmic Rewind, you can find a screen with a storm labeled as a Maelstrom! This is a fairly direct reference to the lost attraction of the same name, but the coordinates point to the Norway Pavilion! The small numbers also refer to Maelstrom’s opening and closing dates!
Inside of the Brew-Wing Lab at EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival, you can find an upside down red bucket with a pair of eyes drawn on it. This bucket is a reference to The Muppets at Walt Disney World, where Beaker had it stuck on his head throughout the special!
Hello everyone!! After a bit of a hiatus, I’m happy to say that Remnants of Forgotten Disney has made the jump and will be heading to “Bluer Skies”! Feel free to follow us there for more remnants and maybe even a few new surprises! 👀🦋
The Marne-la-Vallée reference in the queue of Florida’s Jungle Cruise has survived yet another refurbishment.
(Marne-la-Vallée is the town in which Disneyland Paris is located.)
Among the blueprints in the Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey Pavilion are repair notes for the Muppet Mobile Lab. The Muppet Mobile Lab was an interactive attraction at a few Disney parks and was created as part of the Living Character Initiative! The duo was sadly last seen in 2016.
Above the shelves in Momento Mori at The Magic Kingdom you can find two emblems on chains. These were a part of the “Host-A-Ghost” jars that were sold for HM’s 50th anniversary! Amigus’s can be found near the main entrance and Culpepper’s can be found by the Fantasyland entrance!
Among the items in the cage that guests pass in the queue for Journey Into Imagination With Figment is a photo of an unknown couple standing in the middle of EPCOT. Although the exact date of the photo is difficult to tell, the Fountain of Nations can be seen in the background!
The queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has many new birdhouses which all follow the same style, expect for one. That’s because the blue house is a leftover relic from Splash Mountain! It can be found just across from the restrooms!
One of the few remnants of MGM’s time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be found at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant! One of the films shown is a shortened version of 1962’s “Tom and Jerry: Mouse Into Space”, complete with the original MGM end card!
The snowflake from Disneyland’s Adventure Through Innerspace lives on in Pixie Hollow! You’ll find it in the Winter Woods on Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies at Tokyo DisneySea
If you look closely at her, you’ll notice her arms and legs are in the same position as Keiko.
That’s because she **IS** Keiko!!!!! They gave her figure new clothes and a new wig and moved her to the cave scene! She’s stayed in Spaceship Earth the whole time!!!
Within this prop cage in the queue for Journey into Imagination: With Figment is a circular disk labeled “Colors”. This disk is actually a dial that was taken from the “Imaginometer” found within the Dreamport of the original Journey into Imagination!
The theater currently used for Turtle Talk with Crush at The Seas with Nemo & Friends originally was used as pre-show theater #2 at The Living Seas! Some of the theater doors are even the same ones guests used to exit into the Hydrolators!
Thanks to @ThemeParkLore for the maps!!
When you scan your MagicBand at one of the design kiosks in Test Track’s showroom, it plays a short synth Fun to be Free jingle. I’ve been trying to get a good recording of it for a while. Today’s attempt was no exception.
One of my favorite remnants at Magic Kingdom can be found by the potion brewing scene of “A Pirates Adventure”! In a cabinet, you can find a wooden “KP” token, a platypus skull wearing a fedora, and a medallion. These are all references to past interactive experiences at WDW!
Early in the queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you’ll find a shelf behind a desk. On this shelf is a trio of porcelain animals- a rabbit, a fox, and a bear. These are likely a subtle reference to the main characters of the previous attraction, Splash Mountain!
