@TheEricGoldman I saw Avatar on 12/26, fully expecting to see Cap teaser. Thor teaser might have been first time in 20 years that I saw a trailer I didn’t know anything about. Sure I know the movie exists and I knew more teasers were happening but it was 100% a surprise. It’s working.

@TheEricGoldman I recall being disappointed in 2017 through 2020 that all the bands I could count on in the past to release protest music either weren’t doing it or buried the concept in vague metaphors. I feel like they were way more vocal about Bush in the mid 2000s.

@michaelgbaron @andrewsteeled @just_mets Padres only gave up one top 100 prospect for two years of Cease. They only got one top 100 prospect trading the generational Soto to Yanks. (Though they did get King.) Mets shouldn’t be held ransom…but do we need to horde so many uncertain infield prospects?

@JeffPassan People keep pointing to small market teams…the bigger issue is mid market teams that were in the running for Sasaki, etc. There are a lot of teams willing to spend that have great player development. Those teams got iced out. Why are those owners getting blamed?

@ProgressCityUSA I pretty much wake up everyday interested in a book about the development of EPCOT Center. I would want it to dig deeper than the usual stories. (So much now just cribs from Beard’s book and official Disney text.) Stories that are Offbeat, lesser-known or real deep dives.

MLB really screwed the Mets and Braves. The teams had a day off Monday, they had clear weather for a doubleheader yesterday. The league knew a hurricane was coming. Instead the teams play a potential do or die doubleheader and potentially fly to San Diego the very next day.
