I sit at the intersection of health, tech, finance, & art and people watch. If you have empathy, love data, & want to build disruptive solutions, let's connect!
I would like to join the chorus of CC voices saying:
If you are not masking and avoiding infections... It shows. You may not realize, but your sharpness, your compassion, your humanity... Is declining.
It is not too late to turn the brain damage trian around. #MaskUp.
🇦🇺Australia’s winter illness season is back – what viruses are prevalent this year and when should you get vaccinated?

There are plenty of world-class L0ngC0vid experts far smarter than I am.
But I bring something they don’t: I’m a CV surgeon and endovascular specialist. I’ve had hearts, lungs, arteries, and other organs literally in my hands. I’ve seen their insides, healthy and ravaged, with my own eyes.
That gives me one brutal, irreplaceable edge: I can take the science and translate it straight into the living, bleeding reality of human anatomy.
And what I see coming is ugly.
You, personally and as a society, are in for one hell of a shock.

If you keep minimising SARSCoV2, refuse to protect yourselves, and keep swallowing the lies of pseudo-experts chasing money or psychiatrists salivating over a fresh FND goldmine… you’re walking straight into disaster.
Tell every last one of them to https://t.co/rw58iRjUf4 off!
Then follow the hard, unfolding science.👇
Your organs don’t care about opinions. They only care about damage. And the damage is already stacking up, be it momentarily maybe still clinically "silent"! #AvoidSars2 #AvoidReinfections
Loud and clear for journalists in the back: If you talk about post pandemic-onset increases of the very same “development vulnerabilities” that have been linked to COVID infections, yet point only to lockdowns and fail to consider viral impacts, you are fundamentally unserious.
A Winnipeg man living with a rare neuromuscular disorder is speaking out over concerns with home care services. He says his condition is deteriorating and so is his level of care. Marney Blunt reports.
MIT found Alzheimer's-like amyloid plaques in the brains of people who died of COVID. https://t.co/QbSJWJQhGW
Spike proteins were clustering with amyloid.
This was not in older adults with pre-existing disease.
It was caused by COVID.
🚨 JUST IN: Scientists who warned about airborne COVID are now urging WHO to treat Andes hantavirus as airborne by default warning the world not to repeat past mistakes
Have you wondered why unions haven’t kicked the door in on COVID denialism in the workplace?
The Disability Caucus at CAPE - a Canadian union representing over 27,000 federal workers - is here to tell the world
THE WAIT IS OVER!

I sincerely hope that every person denied accommodation, in the form of healthcare workers’ refusal to wear a respirator while providing medical care, is getting it in writing and making copies.

@kadamssl@avilewis@NDP It shouldn’t be a hard bar to meet. And yet.
Think of it this way, NDP. Can you name a faster growing demographic than people harmed by the long-term impacts of COVID? And your party is showing your mathematical cleverness by understanding this group’s concerns and needs, how?
This is the one thing that’s holding me back from loudly throwing my support behind @avilewis. You cannot be a champion of the people while failing to address one of the greatest present threats to their health and wellbeing.
It’s a massive blind spot for @NDP leadership.
#LongCovid also means not being able to take a shower (or do much of anything) today because I took two rides on public transport yesterday.
This illness sucks the life out of you.
0/10 do not recommend
Wear a respie if you love your life.

A New York worker is successful in their workers compensation claim against Family Dollar, for contracting covid at work, and covid causing their stroke, didn't need specificity of who infected them, rather a "prevalence" standard was applied, good application of law
@kadamssl Always happy to connect with people here or LinkedIn. We have to connect more people who mask, look out for each other, etc. The path is harder for us.
A neighbor: "Everyone I know is sick all the time." That neighbor coughed for 8 months straight.
The best time to follow the evidence was years ago.
The next best time to follow the evidence is right now.
This week:
"I know I'm living in denial about the long-term complications of COVID-19, but I don't like the way you do things,"
is as far as I've gotten in conversation with someone very close to me this year.
The revelation is everywhere. The courage is not.
