Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.

I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

Online posts like mine, and millions of others, are part of internet pop culture. They are triggered by the bait these leaders themselves throw, and function as lighthearted, non-serious internet banter around diplomatic interactions. Using that banter to justify explicit sexual innuendos, like "Meloni samajh kar to nahi pakad liya", aimed directly at mocking foreign relationships, making vulgar comments about a foreign PM, and disparaging our own PM's personal conduct on a formal platform, is absurd.

Also, equating the conduct of social media accounts to whitewash the indecency of elected leaders speaking at an official political gathering is just a lazy, low-IQ attempt to give politicians a free pass for conduct that wouldn't even pass standard workplace decorum. Leaders are expected to elevate political discourse, not reduce public conventions to the lowest common denominator of social media trolling.
