Throwback to the Hooper City Neighborhood Food Giveaway. I am glad that I was able to connect with Neighborhood Association President Anthony Douglas.
It is always a pleasure to give back to residents in the community. I will continue working to move our district forward.
I had the pleasure of sponsoring a one-day Teen Summit for teens ages 15-19 at Daniel Payne Community Plaza.
I spoke explicitly about the Link Between Cuffing and Teen Violence. With the number of stories we hear about youth and violence, I used my platform to spread the word.
We are just 5 days away from the Magic City Classic. Here is a throwback of me at the last game. As the Chair of the Economic Development Committee, I am always excited that the largest HBCU event in the nation is held here in Birmingham.

As a child, I remember riding a bike and feeling free. I was able to travel and explore the area around me. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to give bikes to the kids in Hooper City.
I am thankful that I could share this same joy with our youth.

I want to give a big thank you to my team. Throughout my time as City Councilor, these young men have stood by my side. Without their help and support, I would not be where I am today. Thank you for all the countless hours in and out of the office.

District 9, this pandemic is not over.
We can all do our part to protect one another. Please continue to wear your mask, wipe down your surfaces and social distance. It takes all of us to make progress.
Stay safe, D9.

I had the opportunity to speak with the young men in the @buildup Birmingham program. I instilled in them the importance of education, and the power one can hold in reading. If you put in the work, you can be a superhero.

The D9 office had the opportunity to partner with NFL Flag to bring a flag football clinic to Legion Field. I am glad that I was able to be a part of this event and assist in helping P.E. teachers understand the sport and apply the best techniques and practices in their classes.
Today I want to shout out to all of the educators! On World Teachers Day, I want to recognize all the excellent teachers and school employees in District 9.
I appreciate you for educating and supporting our youth. Our district is better because of you.

District 9 is my home. Giving back to my community is truly a gift. My family has lived in Pratt City for more than 125 years and there is no place I would rather serve. I am listening and putting in the work to move our community forward.
