The hate for doctors in this country is getting out of control.

Yes, there are bad apples in our field and in every other profession too
There are engineers who take black money and build faulty roads.
There are government employees who demand bribes for work they are already paid to do.
There are police officers who side with criminals instead of civilians.
Yet, these professions are rarely generalized.

But let one doctor do something wrong, or one corporate hospital overcharge and suddenly every doctor becomes greedy, heartless, and corrupt.

Doctors working 36-hour shifts, without holidays, without festivals, without time for family, this is normalized with a single line:
“You chose this profession.”

Recently, I made a simple post saying I have night duty on the 31st.
I didn’t complain.
I didn’t say I was special.
I didn’t say I was unhappy.
Still, people swarmed in to say:
“Others also work nights.”
“If you don’t like it, leave.”
That reaction itself explains the deeper issue.

I can understand where some of this hatred comes from.
One reason is jealousy whether people admit it or not.
Nearly 15 lakh students appear for NEET every year.
That number alone shows how many people want to become doctors.
When they don’t get in, disappointment slowly turns into bitterness.

Another reason is money.
When people see a doctor charging ₹1000 for a 5–10 minute consultation, they immediately do mental math
“How much does this doctor earn per month?”
What they don’t calculate is the price paid before that moment.
That consultation fee comes after at least a decade of intense studying.
While many were enjoying their 20s....traveling, partying, earning, settling down....
we were in libraries, wards, night duties, exams, failures, and constant pressure, using that same time differently.
The earning starts late.
The responsibility starts early.
And the consequences of a mistake are permanent.

And God forbid, when you or your family faces a serious illness..
it is us you will come to.
Not engineers.
Not influencers.
Not comment sections.

Doctors are not gods.
Doctors are not perfect.
But doctors are human beings carrying responsibilities most people will never experience.
Criticize wrongdoing.
Hold systems accountable.
But stop turning hatred into a personality trait.

It’s time to calm down.
It’s time to bring back basic respect for doctors.
