Its the pendulum. See how it swings.

From one side of legalism, which is boasting in one's service to God as a means to earn God's favour, it swung to the other end.

That end is a correction but it doesn't stop at the correction it goes further to imply an open theism in finances, an error.

But both are not biblical.

The legalist didn't earn God's favour by giving one million dollars. How did he get one million dollars in the first place?

If He wants to earn God's favour, he needs to first pay Jesus back for His blood that was sher on the cross. After paying then he can start paying for all the common grace God has given.

Let the legalist try and see if he can "prove God" by his giving.

But the material open theist is also wrong in correction of the evils of materialistic prosperity preachers.

There's no area of our lives that God is agnostic about. In Him we live and move and have our being.

The work of our hands are our worship to God. Worship and service to God is not only inside church. We will also give account for how we do our material works.

Furthermore, God actually provides. God supplies our needs according to what we need to fulfil His plan for us. To say Jesus didn't make anyone a millionaire is to imply that Jesus began to exist in His incarnation. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

He can give some 5 talents and give others 1. He's the God of Philemon and Onesimus. Paul says to tell rich people not to trust in riches because it is God that gives us all things richly to enjoy.

So material things aren't outside of service and worship. Neither is it outside of what God gives and is intentional about.

God makes some people rich but not everyone. The sovereign Lord has this right and exercises it. Our responsibility is to maximise the gifts He gives us to use it to glorify Him.

So we will not all be rich but we will all be taken care of better than sparrows.

Nigeria needs to find Apostolic christianity. We need to find the doctrine that was taught by the church and was revived by the protestant reformation's best minds.

We need it seriously. We need to stop swinging from one extreme to the other.

The gospel of Jesus is a message on the grace of God. Moses brought the law, but Grace and Truth came by Christ Jesus. satan, however, is at his old trick again. Take the truth, stretch it, go off into excesses, and the Body of Christ recoils at the message and "reject" it. He has been doing this through the ages. Now, he is doing it with the message of the grace of our Lord Jesus.

All those who love God hate the world. God's seed is in them so they don't live for sin.

Living faith has living works.
Saving faith has saved works.

The lawless one has no faith in God.

If sin is not a big deal then grace is not a big deal.

Those who downplay the great evil of sin are only manufacturing future atheists.

One day they will spit on grace because they'll consider it of little value.

You will never appreciate the depth, breadth, height and width of God's love and grace if you don't appreciate the greatness of evil, wickedness, enmity-of-Godness of our transgressions and sins.

You can't rejoice and cry in joy when taught about grace well if you don't understand what it delivered you from.

To Teach in a way that diminishes the "evilness" and judgement-worthiness of sin is to wickedness and great harm to the souls of men.

Such a preacher is working for Satan even if they don't know or mean to.

If sin is not a big deal then God's mercy is not a big deal either.
