We're thrilled to have won the EDI category at the #CharityTimesAwards for our racial equity and DDPO funding programmes. We're very thankful to the charities and CICs and equity organisations that helped us develop and deliver these programmes
Our care needs are growing and changing, and unpaid care is an overlooked but crucial part.
Within the next 10 years, we predict that population growth means almost 1m more people will have caring responsibilities.
That’s equivalent to 2x the population of Liverpool 🧵 (1/4)
We have an exciting opportunity for #SmallButMighty charities in London!
We are very excited to offer a range of free resources for London-based charities (with incomes below £1 million).

We exist to tackle injustice, that’s why 1/3 of the #SmallButVital charities we partner with are led by&for or support racialised & migrant communities. We're making an additional unrestricted payment of £2,500 to support them with unforeseen costs due to the riots.
Across politics and the media, it's time for a complete shift away from the rhetoric that empowers the far right.
It's time our leaders recognise how divisive language and racist policies result in this violence. We're quoted in this piece.👇

Liverpool, Walthamstow, Oxford, Bristol - beautiful scenes from up and down the country of communities coming together in the face of hatred this evening.
THIS is who we are, THIS is what we should be striving for.
This is what small community-led charities do, they show up for people and it's beyond horrific what they're going through to keep staff, volunteers and service users safe
We’ve been speaking to charities we partner with about the impact the far-right riots have had on them, their staff and their communities. Here is what we’ve been hearing, a 🧵:
With our friends @Praxis_Projects and @RefugeeAction we've developed an emergency briefing for People Seeking Asylum & Refugees on staying safe hosted via @hopenothate
Available here in English, translated copies are coming

We're hearing from charities we partner with how they are having to adapt to keep people and communities safe from the far right violence. For anyone who needs it @hopenothate and others have produced this essential resource for charities and groups https://t.co/9ImrG5eJX7
The violent riots that we have seen unfold across the country over the weekend are deplorable. We stand in solidarity with the people, communities and charities impacted by these violent acts. https://t.co/rAGgjUc9bD
Following a week of attacks on Muslims and Black and minoritised people, we remain deeply concerned by the violence and its impact on survivors, as well as the specialist services that support Black and minoritised survivors.

This is unacceptable & deeply uncomfortable viewing. An entire white panel questioning a brown woman like a suspect. Ed Balls and Kate have left their homes this morning with no fear. Zarah and every other brown/black person left knowing they are a target
The racist, hate filled, violent riots we've been seeing haven't happened in a vacuum. It's years in the making by politicians & those with power & influence spreading hate, making it acceptable for others to do so & creating culture wars & division
Lewisham now has the worst score of all Inner London Boroughs. The main reasons why;
- Lack of CPZ coverage. 21% is lower than other neighbouring boroughs.
- Lack of protected 🚲 lanes being built.
- No progress on Healthy neighborhood schemes.
8 of the new Cabinet members have worked in the charity sector prior to parliament, equal only to Gordon Brown's Cabinet.
PBE analysis by Jack Larkham and @NicoleSykes_ found that 4 former Civil Society Ministers/Shadows are now SoSs ⬇️

At the start of the year @Kier_Starmer spoke about the value of civil society, the life saving work charities do against all odds. A vision of a new era, a renewed social contract, a promise of renewal🙌 @LBFEW we’ll keep collaborating & pushing for the change communities need
Alongside our peers, partners & #SmallButVital charities who understand the challenges that our communities face, we are all here to leverage the power of civil society & work with our new leaders to build a better future that is just & compassionate.

Labour’s manifesto pledges to introduce mandatory suspensions for police officers while under investigation for domestic abuse.
This is a huge win for women and girls after almost 50,000 of you joined our campaign to #RemoveTheRot – but there’s more to be done.
