@cinderelless there’s nothing “inside” her besides herself, Nikki is trapped in her own mind with no control of herself, we see that in the movie multiple times with the phone call and her asking bear to kill her. there is no entity and y’all trying to make up one destroys the real horror

@jaedoesthing you can make the argument there theres two entities in a way but that completely takes away from what the movie is saying, by separating Nikki into two different “people” it takes away from the fact that she was aware of basically everything happening but wasn’t allowed to say no

@cinderelless she’s not possessed, there’s no demon, the director said so, it’s very easy to look up. what we see through the movie is Nikki being forced to have no free will, she’s trapped in her own mind, this is very obvious.

@jaedoesthing there’s no demon, the director himself said so very early on, that’s Nikki being forced to act that way, calling what nikki is a demon takes away from the real horror of the story, someone stripped of their right to choose. it’s not spooky ghosts, it’s real raw horror.

@just_nishantt problem is that’s not nikki- that’s the husk of a girl stripped of her autonomy. this is the same thing with mouthwashing, ppl aren’t see them as “the raped” it’s ppl being like “hey maybe let’s not monetize and diminish the severity of the situation these characters endured”
