Visited Auckland City Hospital (public hospital) today.

Walking through those halls, seeing the cleanliness, the equipment, the organisation, the care — it really makes you stop and think.

Today I had the profound honor of accompanying the Lau Delegation, led by the Tui Nayau, Tui Lau, Ratu Tevita Lutunauga Kapaiwai Uluilakeba Mara, as they presented their traditional reguregu to the Vanua o Kubuna.

You could feel the weight of history, sorrow, and deep chiefly connections in every movement, every silent pause.

At the center of it all was Ratu Epeli Nailatikau—a man whose shoulders carried so much. Not just as former President, Speaker, Brigadier-General, or High Commissioner. But as a chief, a leader, and a servant of the people.

Behind every title is a person. Behind every reguregu is a story of love, loss, and legacy.
