@alexisohanian@tarekarafat_ I was 5 and my big brother was 8yrs old when he passed away from cancer and I had to adjust to not having a sibling and it was really hard but then I began to love having time alone to my thoughts and toys etc no sharing 🤣 But all these years later I still miss him dearly 😢🥺
@alexisohanian Your response made me really think and do this post on my social media accounts. Keep staying blessed and happy with your beautiful family. Sending prayers and support always for continued love , health, success and blessings. 💪🏼❤️🙌🏽💪🏽
Lot of people asking me to comment: Yes, that fighter's slur about former First Lady Michelle Obama was vile and inappropriate.
I attended the UFC event via invitation from TKO/IMG leadership (I own 5 pro sports teams + a league). I was already on my way home when those comments were made and was glad to see Dana condemn them.
For context: I resigned in protest from Reddit (the company I co-founded and built for over a decade) specifically to push it to curb communities for hate and violence on the site.
@alexisohanian So glad my hometown gave you such a warm welcome 🤗 Was born and raised their till age 7 not to far from downtown Detroit and then moved to Connecticut. I’ll always be a Motown girl at heart ❤️😁
Acting President @athlos, Kayla Green walks through how she, @alexisohanian, and their team settled on the non-gendered name "ATHLOS".
"I will say this about naming, and as a marketer working in women's sports today.
We're really thinking about how do you build something that isn't gendered?
'Cause you don't have to. 'Cause it should just be sports, not women's sports.
So I think if you were to talk to anybody, like at the @NWSL or the @WNBA, I think they would tell you, 'We'd love to drop the W. We'd love to just be the league.'
And so when we were building Athlos, there was always this idea of like, why would you have to create a gendered name?
And I think that's something really exciting about starting something new."
