Very interesting and informative interview on the proposed changes to Special Ed by the DES. @1Hildegarde - so much more needs to be considered

@JasonRyanTeach Two questions in the audio visual were mixed up - as in the wrong order. So didn't link properly with the video when it was paused. Not a huge issue, but did upset or throw off a good few. I just think it's unacceptable to have any mistakes in a LC paper.
@conorsmurf Agree Conor. Have huge concerns about the new LC Business spec (40% assessment component) for these exact points. Particularly having experience with the current Economic RP. Students with access to tech and parental support at home have huge advantage-evident in work produced.
#lceconomics Housing crises. Great discussion and analysis on Ireland Am this morning. Prices now rising significantly in rural areas. Reasons: demand-pull inflation, cost-push, Government new builds are buy-to-rent, average house prices in Dublin exceeding mortgage approvals...
Super proud of this fella - demonstrating how a diagnosis does not define you but helps you understand limitations and, more importantly, how you can over come them

6th yr Economic students held a "Budget Breakfast" for students & staff to discuss and critically analyse Budget 2024. They presented some very interesting key points and debated who will gain the most and what more could have been done. Very informative class for all involved.
This is incredibly sad and frightening. Also, inline with the "supports" now offered by the HSE for OT or other therapies - a phone call and sheets in the post with activities to be done at home. We are failing every child with any additional need 💔
Despite this being opposed by everyone, highly questionable in terms of legality, on it goes, as children with additional needs continue to get no resources and no support. This was the one area where everyone could have come together to fight this, and didn't.

Teachers' salaries are all over the radio today.
To be clear:
Almost no teacher gets full hours, most will be lucky to get half hours.
This will last for at least the first five years of their career.
@NormaFoleyTD1 gave the figure of €40,000 on @cooper_m
Half that number.

Minister for Education Norma Foley has reversed a plan for Leaving Certificate candidates to sit Paper 1 of their English and Irish exams at the end of fifth year https://t.co/tGBEqM9Xp0
@Catbkelly@Colaistebride@nobrienCB Fantastic idea. Will definitely do this with my 3rd and 6th. Students often think they know topics well but can't recall specific terms in the exam. Would like them to work on this. Love your presentation - very motivating. Thanks for sharing.
Goal Setting.Well done to all the students who took part in the reflection on 3rd Year mock exams.A mock paper analysis activity was followed by goal setting and is my goal smart? Looking forward to reading the learning reflections #learningtolearn
