Mutants are coming the same way Black Panther & Spider-Man arrived in the MCU: by debuting in action in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Expect most of the cast to be announced by the end of 2026.
Marvel are wanting the excitement from Secret Wars to propel the first several films of the next saga - including Black Panther and a Midnight Suns movie.
I’ve learnt that Marvel have already begun considering a version of THE DEFENDERS (not this time) as the “unified project” on Disney+ to house Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, and presumably Iron Fist, Like Cage and others.
Whilst Daredevil has been performing “okay”, it’s not at the level Disney would like and they believe one project for the entire ensemble would bring in more excitement and numbers.
As I reported to you last year: They will be filming a Jessica Jones project concurrently with principal photography on Daredevil Season 3 this year.
Marvel is making significant process in the development of a SLEEPWALKER project (limited series) for Disney+
This is because Marvel are keen on making MIDNIGHT SUNS one of the top priorities for the post-Secret Wars era.
Which means Sleepwalker will be a Midnight Suns member.
The negative sentiment around test screenings is laughable.
Most studios and film productions would love if they had the resources and studio backing to test the movie, and have additional financing to recut or even shoot additional photography.
Trying to perfect your movie isn’t a “bad sign” at all. If a movie had no test screenings and no opportunities to fix anything that arises during post production, THAT is a bad sign because the director is stuck with what they have.
The conversation around reshoots, test screenings, recuts, etc really needs to shift - because people are talking and weighing in on something they clearly have no clue about.
VISION QUEST has a similar budget to LOKI S2 (“over $120M”)
I hear this is the most expensive MCU Disney+ show since 2024 as Marvel is hopeful this is an event show that rejuvenates the fandom on their streaming platform.
I’ve been told this is “not real and ridiculous”
There is never 1 version of a trailer tested or created. There are dozens. To believe there is ever only 1 trailer edit is ludicrous and not how Sony, or any movie or studio, prepare a trailer for the market.
A song choice or not focusing on certain characters has nothing to do with a blurry leak that only a small subset of the fandom would have seen.
According to someone who worked on the Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer, time off on the weekend was cut in half, and people were voluntarily working overtime to remake the trailer after the original was leaked.
There were multiple disagreements and friction during principal photography for Heather’s storyline in #Daredevil - the direction in the edit varies significantly to what was scripted due to multiple rewrites, several cuts and clips moved from last episodes to earlier episodes.
