Big shoutout to @CorridorDigital for featuring our films @DivinityTheFilm and 'The Vandal' on their latest episode of VFX Artists React
Regarding the stop motion faces, we had Jason Walker (Madame Tutli Putli) comp the actor's eyes on to the physical puppets for added realism
Divinity (2023) was an oddly calibrated movie, but I liked it.
Scott Bakula and Stephen Dorff were both good, but these two weird brothers stole the show.
This is one of those movies where a tweet isn't long enough to really get into everything I'd like to say.

Divinity (2023)
https://t.co/Ew2cAFv983
Jaxxon Pierce (Stephen Dorff, Blade), a capitalist in a now-barren Earth is responsible for manufacturing an immortality serum named “Divinity”, which was originally developed by his late father Sterling Pierce (Scott Bakula, Lord of Illusions). Two brothers (Moises Arias and Jason Genao, Ender’s Game and Logan, respectively), crash into the decaying Earth to stop Jaxxon from capitalizing on his serum, which is synthesized utilizing heinous methods and leaving an increasingly dire infertility rate in its wake. The twins hold Jaxxon hostage, dosing him with his own drug until his body becomes monstrous, setting the stage for a practical effects-fueled climax full of gruesome make-up and stop motion animation that has to be seen to be believed.
Written and directed by Eddie Alcazar (Perfect), produced by Steven Soderbergh (Solaris) and gorgeously shot on 16mm black and white reversal film, DIVINITY is a sci-fi horror show like no other in recent memory. Featuring an eclectic ensemble cast that includes former teen star Bella Thorne (The DUFF), four-time Mr. Universe champion Michael O’Hearn, TV star Karrueche Tran (TNT’s Claws) and contemporary adult film performer Emily Willis, Vinegar Syndrome Pictures is proud to bring Alcazar’s lovingly crafted analog genre blast to home video following an international festival run that included nominations at Sundance and Sitges.

One of my favorite films of 2023, DIVINITY, is now on Blu-ray from us at @VinegarSyndrome and I had a great time producing the extras and working with @adammmmaida on creative direction for the packaging

2 // DIVINITY
Experimental retro-futuristic middle ground between the best of David Lynch, and the boldest of David Cronenberg. An ode to foundations of sci-fi cinema from mad scientists to moral corruption, and trampling in God's domain. Absolute stunner.

We are excited to unveil our latest VS Pictures title, Eddie Alcazar’s avant-garde science fiction film and Sundance hit, DIVINITY! Gorgeously photographed in 16mm b&w reversal, it's sure to rank as one of the best new genre films you'll see this year.

So I watched Divinity last night at 1am. What the actual fuck. This is an absolutely bat shit independent genre film that was wildly incoherent and that seems to be part of the beauty. Hard to recommend to non sci-fi junkies, but it’s an awesome midnight movie if you’re bored.
2023 was a great year for movies shot on film:
- The Iron Claw
- Dream Scenario
- Oppenheimer
- Asteroid City
- Maestro
- Poor Things
- Killers of the Flower Moon
- Divinity
- Saltburn
And honestly a lot more. Kodak is koback, baby!
