Just had a long conversation with @EricDJuly and @realchioutlaw and it went very well.
In the spirit of friendly competition, we're going to race to see who can put out more books by the end of the year (@Divinity_Comics or the @TheRippaverse). :D
Comics has been a challenging space for my husband and I for over a decade. We've fought against influential figures who prioritized everything but their craft and used their power to try to push us out and damage our reputations. We've stood up against cancel culture, monopolies, and market manipulation, always supporting creative independence.
My concerns about Eric have always been about his intentions—whether he'd be another self-proclaimed leader who would weaponize his fanbase, or if he was a well-meaning person with respect for independence. After speaking with him, I’m relieved to say I believe he's a well-meaning person who shares our values. He’s a strong advocate for decentralization like how we have been about getting rid of comic book monopolies and letting the free market thrive. We all agree: there’s enough room for everyone; creatives don’t need to fight for a piece of the pie.
As more connections are made and things settle, it’s clear this space can be one where creatives coexist peacefully. The future of indie comics looks bright, and I’m excited for what lies ahead. Thanks for the great conversation, Eric. I think that was the best possible outcome. Looking forward to counting our titles at the end of 2025! :P
Got my G-Busters comic from @Divinity_Comics . Basically a sexy parody of Ghostbusters where a young country girl inherits the playboy mansion and has to bust the ghosts that haunt it. It is honestly a pretty good story with likable characters with some innuendos and breasts. ...
