There was a time when I really loved long eye lashes. I still love them now, though, but only for photoshoots.
You wonβt catch me with short lashes. π
I love them, and I still love them.
Old age no dey gree me see road again. πΉ
Is it your vibe?
These pictures are from 6β8 years ago.
The only mistake I made was wearing this black singlet in this video, and now my DM on Instagram is filled with men sssssexxxxxualing my body.
Is that how you people do over there?
No wonder iniquity will continue to strive!!
Jezzzzzzzzz
If my bar soap remains like this, it is over. I am throwing it away. π
I do not like bathing with tiny bar soap. It will break apart, and some pieces will end up on the bathroom floor, which I dislike so much.
I just discarded this one now.
I cannot deal. π«
A lady made a vlog about a date she had. She said that while waiting for her date to arrive, she ordered something to eat.
I was surprised to see that some people were questioning why she ordered something when her date had not arrived yet.
See the comments:
What if he cancels the date?
What if he does not show up?
Why will you order something before he arrives? Who will pay?
Do you know his budget? Etc.
It kept me wondering: is this how badly the poverty mentality has eaten into some people in this country that they cannot afford to pay their own bills if the date goes south?
This is definitely something I can do. You do not expect her to sit just like that in a restaurant without entertaining herself. How will that make her look? Obviously, like someone who cannot afford to get anything for herself. I cannot even imagine myself in that situation.
I have been on dates, and that is exactly what I do. If I arrive before my date, I will order something, and keep myself busy while waiting for him or her.
This is why you need to make your own money as a woman or man, so that you do not sit looking hopeless in a restaurant or bar waiting for your date, or stand outside waiting for your date.
Make money, you hear? Okay, bye!!!
βDivine continues as our Customer Service Director. Nothing changes in what she owns. Our customers trust us largely because of how she takes care of them, and I want that to stay exactly as it is.β
Yesterday, my boss sent an email announcing new roles and new members joining the team. Everyone got a new role except me.
The statement above was her exact reason for keeping me in my current role.
I joined this company three years ago as a Listing Manager. Somehow, Customer Service Director became part of my role, and I have been doing it for the last three years.
I know I am a Security Analyst, Technical Analyst, Ecommerce Manager, and Consultant, but one thing I never planned to become in my career was a Customer Service Director.
Yet, in the last three years, I have worked as a Customer Success Manager and Customer Service Director for three companies, and all of them have had something great to say about my professionalism and the way I handle customers.
I train and direct other customer service representatives, handle difficult customers, and provide solutions while making sure our customers are happy.
Since I took over customer service management, I have maintained a 4.8-star rating and above across all our stores. We have retained 90% of our customers. That is a great feat, you know?
We have also won 90% of our chargebacks, while refunds and returns have reduced by 80%.
Now you see why my employer retained my role?
Honestly, I wanted a change of role. I wanted to explore something different. But now, I understand her better. She saw where my strength is and decided to keep me there: managing the stores and directing customer service.
Sometimes, you may not understand why you keep getting the same responsibilities or why people keep coming to you for a particular thing. You may even feel like you have outgrown that role.
But do it well anyway.
Do it so well that when an opportunity comes, your work speaks for you before you even say a word.
In whatever you are doing, please do it well. Everybody is watching.
It might not be what you wanted, but one day, it will all make sense.
If you are a broke person with a smartphone, start creating content. Post it across social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
Build your audience and take away the shyness. Create your content with what you have. Stay in the environment you are in. Do not keep looking for aesthetically pleasing environments or waiting until you have better things to work with. Use what you have at the moment and watch how far you will go if you are intentional about it.
Even if you are not monetized yet, keep posting. You have a chance of getting help from Nigerians in Nigeria and in the diaspora. Nigerians are too emotional, they will start seeing you as someone who needs help, and they will genuinely help you.
All the people I used to watch when they were poor 1β2 years ago are all doing well now. They have gotten brand deals, and people genuinely helped them. They are currently living in good houses, wearing good clothes, and traveling. They are no longer broke, some have even relocated. You too can do it if you are willing to come out of poverty.
Just find something and do it. Do not fold your arms and wait for a miracle. The miracle is you standing up for yourself and taking responsibility.
PS: I took this picture 5 years ago as a graduate finalizing her project at the University of Calabar.
If you have been buying palm wine in the city, I am sorry, but what you have been buying is plantain wine. E shock you? πΉ
I just made some for myself, and it is very chilled. This plantain wine tastes so good, exactly like fresh palmy.
You can make yours with just two ingredients: plantain and water!
Someone woke me up through WhatsApp call by 7:30 am and it has been difficult to go back to sleep since then. This call is not even an emergency and she knows my sleeping schedule, thatβs the annoying part. If I curse this person now, did I do bad?
By this time 5 years ago, I had already curated a gift for my project supervisor, even though the man really frustrated me and almost made me back out, which would have meant an extra year in school. Thank God for some doctors and professors who intervened. It is good to be a good student.
My coursemates were surprised that I gave him a gift after everything he did to me, but I am big on appreciation, whether good or bad. The purpose of the gift was to make him understand that we are two different people. His actions did not break me; instead, they made me stand firm.
As a struggling student who found it difficult to afford decent meals, I still stretched myself to afford these little gifts. He was very excited and did not see it coming. Years later, we chat on WhatsApp, and he takes professional advice from me on digital skills.
If you are my friend or close to me, you would know that I am very big on gifts. I gift people a lot, not because I have it all, but because it is one of my love languages. I can go to any length to gift my person.
The project?
I got an A. π
Last night, I decided to request my discount so that I could apply for my CyberOps Associate certification examination because I want to take 2027 more seriously.
After my cybersecurity graduation, I was expected to write my certification exam, but I have been postponing it for months now. I was even given a 58% discount because I scored above 80% in the internal examination, and the discount will expire on the 22nd of this month if I do not request it.
I am to pay 232k for the remaining 42%, and my instructor will proctor the exam for me.
My only wish is to pass this exam on my first attempt. I cannot imagine having to pay over 500k to write it again.
In 2027, I am going into cybersecurity fully, and this is my first step towards achieving that.
Wish me luck.
I have the habit of cheering my fellow walkers during morning walks.
Today, I was just doing my usual thing when I saw this very fat lady. I began clapping my hands while telling her, βWell done!β
She saw me, and we made eye contact, but she did not even say a word. π I was so ashamed because there were a lot of passersby.
It was as if the ground should open and let me enter inside. This is the first humiliation I have faced since I started doing this, and she is the biggest person I have ever cheered on.
I am now thinking of stopping this habit of mine. I will just go for my walk in peace. Over sabi will not put me in trouble. π
Four years ago, my friend and I begged to do a job that paid $0.01 per message, but we were denied.
Four years later, I scroll past $10 per hour jobs because they are not a great fit for me. My friend even scrolls past $15 per hour jobs too.
Moral?
Whatever position you find yourself in now, do not be too hard on yourself. It will only get better as long as you do not give up.
One of my colleagues stopped working yesterday; her contract was terminated.
My boss gave her two weeksβ notice, which is rare to see. For an employer to give a freelancer two weeksβ notice before terminating their contract is very commendable.
I know my boss is a very kind lady, but seeing this side of her has reconfirmed to me that she is truly kind.
This is my third year of working with her, and I only have good things to say about her.
From today, I will be handling additional tasks, maybe until we find a replacement.
