Yesterday @hayleyboxall1 & I provided a submission to Queensland Gov in response to the Making Queensland Safer Bill 2024.
We raise significant concerns about the proposed introduction of ‘adult crime, adult time’ provisions including removal of detention as a last resort & mandatory sentencing for children in conflict with the law.
These provisions breach international human rights law & are not evidence based. Put simply - they will not make the community safer.
