On Day-7, our communication team created a powerful song on malnutrition & anaemia.
through music we spread awareness in the community about the importance of nutrition and good health.
Let’s carry this message forward because a healthier tomorrow begins with awareness today.
While everyone is busy scrolling their mobile screens & checking the exit polls. Away from the flashy mobile lights & TV noise, I met this middle aged couple at a bus station here in Rajasthan.
Heera Nanema & her husband belong to Adivasi community in Banswara. Both work as daily wage labourers in Udaipur, 200 kms from their hometown.
We got talking. The conversation started with the heat wave and meandered towards the Lok Sabha elections. Both were proud that they missed one day of their work and returned to their hometown to cast their votes in Khushalgarh ( Nathpura village).
I didn't ask them, who did they vote for? But I couldn't resist asking them, why did they vote ?
1. Unemployment : They fear that all the hardwork they are doing to educate their children, should repay.
2. Inflation: Whatever little they are earning away from their home, is not enough to feed a family of five.
3. Future of their children: They were proud that their daughter was a given a scooty under the welfare scheme, as she got 80 percent in XII boards but equally concerned for her higher studies & job opportunities.
4. Inclusivity: The pain of discrimination is deep. All they want id an equal treatment and respect in the country , they are living in.
5. Development: They want concrete roads, as they are forced to walk many kilometres , after the last stop where the bus stops.
6. Basic Amenities : As a morning chore Heera carries pitchers of water everyday from a local tube well to her house. In her absence her daughter manages the water supply at home. But she wants a change. A change, that allows her children to study for long , instead of spending time in to get a basic amenity --water.
We parted our ways, with goodbyes, smiles and a hope.
I hope her vote is counted and she gets everything , she voted for.

Govt is going to amend the RTI Act through Data Protection Bill. It is to weaken the RTI. All citizens and groups must rise above party politics to oppose the Bill to #SaveRTI.
All citizens, organisations and political parties who value democracy must unite to oppose this bill.
Citizens beware- Modi sarkar is amending the RTI Act in the monsoon session. The amendments are being brought through the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill. Raise your voice to #SaveRTI
Data Protection Bill being brought in the monsoon session will amend the RTI altering access to public info. It prevents ALL personal info from disclosure under RTI. Info on assets of public officials, willful defaulters, details of NPAs are essential for accountability #SaveRTI
#RTI alert! Digital Personal Data Protection Bill has many problematic provisions, fails in its stated purpose, and fundamentally undermines #transparency and the #RightToInformation through amendments. #SaveRTI
The proposed amendment to Section 8(1)(j) in the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill undermines the fundamental right to information of Indian citizens. We strongly oppose this amendment and stand in support of RTI. Let's come together to #SaveRTI. @johriamrita@AnjaliB_
