The Pirates have a chance to make the postseason. Mlodzinski is a strong bullpen arm. He is not a starter. His best games have literally been when Kelly has an opener pitch the first inning for him.
If he’s not willing to do what’s best for the team, that’s just ridiculous.
Carmen Mlodzinski met with the media after news he’ll shift back to the bullpen:
“I’m still communicating with the organization and the people in my corner, whether that’s my family, my agency about what’s next. I really don’t have any comments after that.”
@dyarksky .244 with an .871 OPS in May…. that’s pretty much what we signed up for. The entire point of the tweet was that he’s coming back to being a good power bat after a slow start.

This is the best looking roster Jeff Capel’s ever had HEADING INTO a season.
By no means am I saying we have better players than we did in 22-23 or 23-24. We won’t know that until we see them play.
But we do have less question marks. And still a lot of intrigue. I love it.
Bryant transfer Timofei Rudovskii has committed to Pitt, sources told ESPN. 6-foot-9 guard from Russia was an intriguing mid-major freshman last season, earning a spot on the America East All-Rookie team after averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and shooting 36.2% from 3.
@BigGamePanther I agree that it seems there was a lot of thought put into what they wanted out of this roster. But I will say, this team still will have some star power. George, Ndongo, Sumler are players that I probably wouldn’t have expected to be in the running for. Staff did a great job
Two nice additions for Pitt Hoops yesterday to polish the roster. Without much money to spend, Pitt got:
-An intriguing D-II star with D-I size/athleticism who can shoot
-A serviceable high major 3rd center
Pitt has a chance to get back on the map nationally with this roster.
I am not exaggerating this is the most loaded CBB team we’ve ever seen in our lives
They might not have a superstar but they have 11 guys who would be the best player on 90% of CBB teams
- Boozer
- Blackwell
- Foster
- Sarr
- Ngongba
- 5 ⭐️ Williams
- 5 ⭐️ Rippey
- 5 ⭐️ Howard
- 5 ⭐️ Boumtje
- Scharnowski (top 30 transfer)
- 4 ⭐️ Meyer
That’s an absolute joke
Can’t get too caught up over dropping stupid games in April, but the Pirates desperately need to figure out how to win consistently. The roster is too good now to be losing in so many different awful ways. Gotta string some success together against lesser opponents eventually
As long as the actual field is still 64 and the added teams all have to participate in the play in, this isn’t the end of the world, but it’s pretty sad.
