I, Clifford Smith (Mr. Vegas), came from humble beginnings, raised in a home enriched with love, discipline, determination, and dreams. These values were instilled in me by my mother, Lucille, and have guided me throughout my life's journey.

Today, those values have culminated in one of the highest national honours a Jamaican citizen can receive—the Order of Distinction. This recognition stands as a testament to the power of hard work, perseverance, and unwavering dedication.

Along the way, I was fortunate to have the support and belief of remarkable individuals, including Don Yute, Jeremy Harding (Nike Air), Collette Browne, Wee Pow, Liv Up ("I Am Blessed"), Danny Browne ("Heads High"), Steelie & Clevie ("Hot Gal Today" featuring Sean Paul), and the late Byron Murray. Their encouragement and contributions helped shape my career, and I remain deeply grateful.

My sincere thanks to the Most Honourable Dr. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica; the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica; my nominator; and everyone who recognized my contribution to the Jamaican culture and the Creative Arts.

To my family, fans, and well-wishers around the world: WE ARE BLESSED. This honour reflects 28 years of dedication to music, service, and unwavering patriotism to my beloved Jamaica. Gratitude is a must!
