After 33 years, how did Somaliland end up in this situation? The answer is twofold: a) the international community has been funding nonexistent projects through collaboration with a questionable system / individuals, using their citizens' taxes, and b) the Somaliland political and commercial apparatus has established laws and regulations that ensure power and wealth remain concentrated in the hands of a select few, as exemplified by the @WaddaniP candidate serving as the Chairman of the House of Representatives for 12 years, and the current party Chairman, who held a position of great influence in Silanyo's government, now being presumed winners of the rigged elections in November 2024.

It’s time for the citizens of the West countries to demand tangible results for their goodwill. Reformation of the bureaucracy is necessary to dismantle the system that benefits a gang-like network and individuals, enabling corruption, nepotism, and quid pro quo. It’s also time that the people of #Somaliland revolt against the corrupt regime by demanding fair and free elections that happens in a timely manner.
