@Passi0n03 He could have killed him IF he had the energy/time to do that. The whole point of the picture you posted, is to communicate to the audience how strong goku is in SSJ3 when he has enough energy. The problem with the first encounter is that he didn't have enough time to kill buu

@Passi0n03 He cuts down his entire energy expenditure to only 30 minutes just by transforming. He would need a high energy attack to be able to finish off Fat Buu, meaning he would need to charge EVEN MORE energy for that which he doesn't have since the transformation was already too much
