go to a clinic and ask for self pay rate ( required by law now “no surprise act” just say I want a good faith estimate for self pay) it is almost always significantly cheaper then using insurance as long as not a surgery or some inpatient exam. Example out of pocket radiology services actually cost you less out of your pocket almost all the time then using insurance —the down side is you that cost does not go toward your deductible and out of pocket so when you actually need to use it for car accident or something serious you end up with a massive bill. Totally backward system right now
